How and when do I check for the configuration setting on the drive?

Checking Configuration Settings

The drive will become defective if the configuration level setting is left active. If this setting is active the free disk space on the drive will eventually read 0.00% because the drive is recording all error logging. This setting should always be checked when the drive is replacedand if the instrument has gone through the upgrade process.

To check for this setting do the following:

  1. Go into the old Smart interface
  2. Select 4. System
  3. If there is a ninth menu entry, called Configuration Level, select setting
  4. Select 1. Configuration Level Setting
  5. Enter 100
  6. Unit will restart.

After restart, the Configuration Level entry will be gone and logging will be disabled. Also refer to the "HAPSITE Drive Replacement and Setup" document.
