How and when should I clean the HAPSITE ER probe with methanol or acetone?
Applies to: Chromatography Hapsite ER (GC/MS) | Tickets Solved: 1
Only clean the probe when there is a known problem with clogging, evident by visible debris coming through the probe or by operator knowledge of a highly concentrated substance being injected into the probe. Unplug the probe and inspect to ensure that the o-ring is positioned correctly and undamaged. Make sure all the probe pins are present and in good condition. Inject 1ml of methanol into the probe and turn the probe upside down repeatedly. Let the methanol drain out. Make sure the methanol evaporates completely by leaving the probe unplugged for two hours. If cleaning the probe with methanol is unsuccessful then acetone can be used. Follow the same procedure to clean using acetone. If more help is needed please call technical support.
