I am receiving a Mass Calibration Error during the Shimadzu QP 2010+ auto-tune. What does this mean?
Applies to: Chromatography QP2010 GCMS (GC/MS) | Tickets Solved: 4 | Rank: 3.5
Mass Calibration Error
- This error is due to the Shimadzu being unable to properly tune to target ions in the PFTBA tuning solution. Reasons for this include:
- The PFTBA solution is depleted, expired, or the vial is incorrectly installed. If so, please see the document titled, “Filling the Tuning Solution” for a detailed step-by step illustrated guide to properly refill the PFTBA tuning solution.
- Contaminated mass spectrometer components. The ideal Lens 1 voltage range is -1 to 1 V. If there is a steady increase in Lens 1 voltage in the preceding tune files, this is an indication of contamination. A trained technician will be needed to resolve this issue.
Contact technical support if further assistance is needed.
