The needle on my auto-sampler syringe is bending during sample injection with the Shimadzu QP 2010+. How can I correct this?

Sample Injection Issue

  • There are several causes for the needle breaking or bending.
  • First, ensure the correct needle is being used.
  • A 23 gauge syringe must be used with the AOC-5000 auto-sampler.
  • Next, verify the red needle guide is in place on top of the injector port.
  • See Figure 1 in the attached document titled, "Troubleshooting Needle Issues" to assist.
  • Lastly,conduct a rail check on the auto-sampler to ensure it is properly aligned.
  • Refer to the document titled “Auto-Sampler Needle Change” for guidance on aligning the auto-sampler.
