What is the difference between the TruDefender and the FirstDefender?

Differences in the TruDefender and FirstDefender

The TruDefender uses IR technology, while the FirstDefender uses Raman. In addition, a user must press the sample onto the instrument or use the crusher while operating the TruDefender. A further difference is that the TruDefender has no issues identifying dark colored materials or fluorescent samples, and it gives a stronger signal than the FirstDefender. However, the TruDefender cannot identify mixtures of liquids.
